Zip Over to Zibbet

Since I like to check out the Etsy Forums daily I get to hear the scoop on what is up and coming in the crafts world. One thing that I heard about 2 days ago is a new website similar to Etsy called Zibbet! Basically these creators took Etsy and all the good about it, but also improved what sellers were complaining about. Things like Listing Fees, one at a time photo uploads, difficulty having store sales.... none of those are a problem on Zibbet.

I read about Etsy seller's thoughts about the new site, took a tour, and signed up right away after reading the perks, the biggest of which is a flat monthly fee for Premium Seller accounts. (Premium accounts give you a lot more customization, something that really appeals to me since I want to stick in a buyers mind!) Looking at my last couple of Etsy bills they have been pretty substantial since I have been listing a lot and selling a lot... upwards of $20 most months. While that .20 listing fee on Etsy looks minimal, it adds up when you list 70 items in a month, plus Etsy takes a small cut of the selling price...again, it adds up. On Zibbet there are no listing fees, no selling fees, and that rate I got my store for is for life!

I like that I can upload all my pics at once, that if I have a sale or a coupon code the site automatically takes off whatever percentage I tell it to, and that the store itself looks awesome thanks to bigger banners and profile photos.

Here is what my store looks like:

If you are a seller and want to join, here is a special link to get you started!

What's New In My Bookstore?

This has been a really exciting time at Usborne Books! Convention really got a lot of people going and it is trickling down to those of us so new to the business that we didn't get a chance to go.

One of the coolest things about having my own business with Usborne is that it is what I make it, not what someone else says it has to be. No minimums to maintain, no stock to buy, just show people why these books are a valuable part of any home with children. And seeing as that is something I firmly believe it, it is easy as pie.

Every month there is a different starter kit and the one for September is really impressive to me. Here are the important details that I clipped straight from my store!

A Berry Good Night!

Last night was my debut show as an Usborne Book Consultant and what a great time I had! I was a little nervous that a home business might not be my thing, but when I actually thought about it, this was the perfect thing for me. It is something I actually believe in, I mean, who doesn't want their child to love reading? And the company is one that is financially sound, doesn't require a minimum to maintain, and has books that I love to keep in my house. (Extra money for shoes and bubblebath doesn't hurt either!)

From the start it has been really easy to get into the business part of Usborne and I can't wait to keep booking more book parties! I got to name my online store and of course the name had to do with strawberries so I named it www.aberrybookstore.com! Very Connie-ish, huh? Anyone can go to my store and just pick up some books anytime- they make fabulous gifts and are not just for babies. And if you are in the Cleveland area and what to have a party let me know and we can have a great time- nothing beats free books for your little ones!
